Murder charges have been laid against two men in connection to the death of a Winnipeg man in the city's North End this weekend.

Police said Sunday that Zenon Sylvester Bozynski, 48, was found badly injured in the rear of a Redwood Avenue home at about 9 a.m. Saturday.

He was rushed to hospital but died there early Sunday morning. Police didn't specify the nature of his injuries or reveal the cause of death.

They did say, however, that Bozynski wasn't wearing winter clothing and police believe he was out in the bitter cold for several hours.

Jamie Jossens Morrisseau, 27, of Winnipeg, and Gamielle William Harry Courchene, 25 of Fort Alexander, have been charged with second-degree murder and are in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre, police said.

Investigators remain on scene at 346 Redwood Ave.

Police are expected to comment on the details of the case Sunday afternoon.

Bozynski's death is Winnipeg's second homicide this year.
