A motorhome fire just east of Richer, Man. had traffic backed up on the Trans-Canada Highway most of Saturday morning.

RCMP were dispatched at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday to the stretch of highway where the motorhome and the vehicle it was towing were completely destroyed in the fire.

The driver and passenger of the motorhome were not hurt.

Police said the cause of the fire was mechanical in nature.

Drivers experienced delays in the area, as Highway 1 was down to one eastbound lane.
