A 27-year-old man is in hospital after a motorcycle crashed into a parked car in Winnipeg's St. Boniface neighbourhood.

It happened in the 1000 block of Archibald Street, just south of Elizabeth Road, at about 12 a.m. on Friday.

Police said the motorcycle was first seen speeding in the St. Vital neighbourhood on St. Anne’s Road near Hull Avenue.

The man was driving erratically with no regard for public safety, police said.

He was rushed from the crash scene in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

The southbound lanes of Archibald remained closed for several hours, reopening just before 8 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending, police said.
