Mosquito fogging to begin in Wolseley, Assiniboine Park
Fogging to begin in Brandon on Wednesday evening
Mosquitoes in Wolseley are in the city’s crosshairs as Winnipeg crews get set to fog the area Tuesday night.
After inclement weather cut initial fogging efforts short over the weekend, crews managed to press on with their strategic attack against the city’s mosquito population, hitting the Municipality of West St. Paul Monday evening.
The nuisance mosquito fogging campaign will spray malathion between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the following areas:
Insect Management Area
Assiniboine Downs, Buchanan, Kirkfield, Glendale, Westwood
Crestview, Heritage Park, Saskatchewan North, Sturgeon Creek
Birchwood, Booth, Jameswood, Murray Industrial Park, Silver Heights, Woodhaven
Bruce Park, Deer Lodge, King Edward
Brooklands, Sargent Park, St. James Industrial
Armstrong Point, Broadway - Assiniboine, Legislature, Portage & Main, South Portage, The Forks, West Broadway, Wolseley
The city said all registered buffer zones will be respected and that Winnipeg residents can typically expect at least eight hours notice before their neighbourhoods are fogged.
The city said the best way to figure out if your neighbourhood is in a buffer zone is to call 311.
Fogging trucks will also start rolling out in Brandon, Man., on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Brandon residents can still register for a buffer zone if they don't want their properties treated with malathion, according to the city.
