There's very little buzz happening in Winnipeg, which means the city won't be fogging for mosquitoes.

The public works department said when the mosquito activity is low, fogging is not effective. The droplets of Malathion must be in the air when the mosquitoes are flying in order to hit and kill them.

The city-wide average for the mosquito traps on Monday was 15.

For spraying to occur, the trap count average needs to be 25 for two consecutive days with at least one section of the city recording a minimum count of 100.

The quadrant with the highest count on Monday was the northeast, at 19.
