It's mid-April, but the weather forecast is still calling for more snow in Winnipeg and much of southern Manitoba.
According to Environment Canada about two centimetres of snow is expected for the city Sunday.
There's a snowfall warning for The Pas, where 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is possible.
High winds are also in the forecast throughout the day gusting at 30 km/h.
The sunshine is expected to return on Monday with a high of zero degrees.
In 2012 on April 21 it was 13 C and the snow had been melted for weeks.
Stony Mountain Slush Cup
It's not perfect weather for the annual Slush Cup this April, but owners of Stony Mountain Ski Area aren't complaining.
The event has skiers and snowboarders go down the bunny hill and doing tricks into the melting snow and slush at the bottom.
It's usually about 15 C outside with melting snow, but with the temperature at -1 C this year, organizers are using a hose to pump water to make slush.
"We're telling people to dress warm and bring extra clothes," said Heather Campbell Dewar, an owner.
"I don't think they're going to be as daring this year as they were last year," she added. "I think they'll probably be far more cautious when they're going across it because it won't be as much fun to get wet."
Campbell Dewar said this is the latest in the year Stony Mountain Ski Area has ever been open.
