More of the same frigid weather for southern Manitoba Sunday

Yesterday was painfully cold in southern Manitoba, and today winter conditions are going to be equally unkind.

Saturday saw highs in the –23 C range (about –39 with windchill), with overnight lows of about –27 C (–34 C with windchill) in Winnipeg and the surrounding area.

Things are going to be on the sunnier side Sunday, but the weather isn't going to be any friendlier.

Winnipeg forecast:

  • Mostly sunny; cloudier into evening
  • High of –23 C (–38 C with windchill)
  • Winds gusting to 15 km/h
  • Overnight low of –26 C (–34 C with windchill)

About two centimetres of snow is expected Monday morning in Winnipeg, with north winds in the 30 km/h to 50 km/h range and a high of –18 C (–34 C with windchill) on the way.
