Brandon Wheeler, 30, was last seen on April 15 in the Windsor area, driving a green 2010 Jeep Wrangler with a soft top, oversized tires, a customized bumper and Ontario licence plates.

Winnipeg police located Wheeler's Jeep after it had been towed away from a hotel in the Wellington Avenue area and declared as abandoned property on April 29, a spokesperson told CBC News.

Wheeler is described as being six feet four inches tall with a skinny muscular build, short brown hair, hazel eyes and pierced ears. He usually wears a dark leather jacket, T-shirt, jeans and glasses.

Windsor police have said they were contacted after Wheeler did not show up for work on April 16. They say he may be under distress and police are concerned for his safety.

A Facebook page called "Brandon Wheeler — Missing Person" describes him as an aquarium hobbyist and Jeep enthusiast who may seek work in a tool and die-related field, at a print shop or in a pet store.

"Please spread the word with extra details to widen the search. Brandon has a large family who are very shocked and distraught," the Facebook page states in part.

Anyone with information about Wheeler's whereabouts is asked to call the Winnipeg Police Service's missing persons unit at 204-986-6250.
