The RCMP are looking for a Calgary woman who has been missing for several weeks, after officers recently found her abandoned vehicle along the Trans-Canada Highway in Manitoba.

Michelle Matovich, 28, was last seen by her family on the May long weekend, according to police, who add that it's not known why she would be in Manitoba.

Portage la Prairie RCMP officers found Matovich's vehicle, which has Alberta licence plates on it, on the highway just west of MacGregor, Man., in the afternoon of June 3.

Inside the vehicle were luggage, a map and a cellphone, police said in a news release Tuesday.

RCMP said they are concerned about her well-being and have notified the Calgary Police Service.
