Masked Winnipeg man accused in string of robberies
Police say he's accused in 5 robberies at downtown financial institutions
Winnipeg police have a suspect in a string of robberies at downtown financial institutions during April.
Police said there have been five thefts since April 2 and in each incident a lone male wearing a mask demanded money from a teller and was given an undisclosed amount.
Three of the robberies were on Portage Avenue, and two on Broadway.
Police said the suspect is a 38-year-old Winnipeg man, who will face five robbery charges and charges of using a disguise to commit a crime.
He was also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant of apprehension and suspension.
The man is being held at the Provincial Remand Centre.
