Manitoba woman killed in head-on semi crash
RCMP believe SUV tried to pass semi before it collided head on with another
A 51-year-old Manitoba woman is dead after the SUV she was driving collided with a semi-truck on Highway 10 on Wednesday.
RCMP said the woman was driving southbound on Highway 10 in the RM of Morton when she tried to pass a semi and collided with a different semi heading in the opposite direction.
Officers said the head-on crash happened just before 8 p.m.
The 51-year-old woman from the RM of East St. Paul was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only one inside the SUV.
The driver of the semi, a 61-year-old Deloraine resident, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
