People in Manitoba are celebrating Canada Day in cities, towns and villages across the province.

Anyone in Winnipeg, for instance, can take in events at The Forks, in Osborne Village and at Assiniboine Park.

In Steinbach, a pancake breakfast is scheduled at the Mennonite Heritage Museum and in Brandon, events are taking place at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.

The Forks has all-day family entertainment, with fireworks starting at 11 p.m.

Osborne Village is hosting a huge street party through Thursday, so the area is closed to traffic.

And it's family day at Assiniboine Park Zoo, with free admission.

Fireworks at Assiniboine Park are scheduled for 10:30 p.m.

Winnipeg Transit is on a Sunday schedule, but is offering a free shuttle linking downtown to The Forks and Osborne Village.

All government offices and most businesses around the province are closed.
