A dispute over beer led to one man being stabbed outside a Winnipeg convenience store this weekend.
City police were called just before 3 a.m. Saturday to a store near Keewatin Street and Logan Avenue, where they found a 52-year-old man with stab wounds to the upper body.
The victim was sent to hospital in stable condition. A 23-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene.
Investigators believe the victim was standing outside the store when the suspect allegedly tried to steal his beer and a fight erupted.
Police allege the accused also broke a window as he forced his way inside the convenience store.
He has been charged with mischief under $5,000 as well as aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. He is in custody.
