A 36-year-old man died after the minivan he was driving rolled and landed on its roof in a water-filled ditch in western Manitoba.
It happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 45, about 16 kilometres east of Russell, RCMP said.
It appears the van was heading east on Highway 45 when it left the road, hit an approach for a side road and flipped on its roof, RCMP said.
The man, from the community of Elphinstone, was the only person in the van, police said. He was rushed to hospital in Russell where he was pronounced dead.
The man was wearing a seatbelt but alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor in the crash.
RCMP said the crash is not a result of any flood-related conditions in the area.
The name of the man is not being released.
