Man confined, beaten, robbed in Winnipeg apartment
Two men are charged with attempted murder after another man was allegedly confined and beaten in Winnipeg's West End.
According to police, several people were at a party in an apartment suite in the 600 block of Maryland Avenue on April 28 when two men began harassing another man.
The 19-year-old victim was restrained and beaten over an extended period of time with numerous weapons that caused multiple serious injuries, police said.
He was also robbed and threatened further if he tried to escape, police said.
At some point, when he was left alone in the suite, he was able to break free and flag down a police car.
Paramedics were called and the man was taken to hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
On April 30, two men, aged 24 and 20, were arrested.
Both are charged with the following:
- Attempt to commit murder.
- Forcible confinement x 2.
- Uttering threats
- Robbery x 3
- Assault with a weapon x 8
- Possession of a weapon x 8
The 20-year-old was also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Both men remain in custody.
