A 20-year-old man is charged with a slew of firearms-related offences after a 17-year-old boy was shot in Winnipeg's North End on Monday.

According to police, the teen and another boy were inside a home in the 600 block of Manitoba Avenue when two suspects forced their way in at about 2 p.m.

When the boy tried to get away, he was shot in the upper body. The second boy was not injured.

The two intruders then ran from the home, police said.

Police searched the area and shortly after 11 p.m. one of the suspects, the 20 year old, was arrested in the 400 block of Flora Avenue.
