Winnipeg police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with an assault in the city's St. James neighbourhood that has another man clinging to life in hospital.
Police were called at around 3 a.m. CT Saturday on the first block of Fidler Avenue on reports that a man had been assaulted.
Officers found the injured man, who was taken to hospital. He remains in critical condition as of midday Sunday, police said in a release.
The 21-year-old suspect is facing two counts of assault, one count of aggravated assault, and one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, police said.
