RCMP say man, 64, from RM of Springfield faces voyeurism, child pornography charges
A 64-year-old man in rural Manitoba faces voyeurism and child pornography charges after RCMP received a report about young family members being covertly recorded in his home.
The man, who is from the Rural Municipality of Springfield, had set up a "recording device" in his washroom, RCMP stated in a news release Thursday.
As well, he possessed child pornography and made sexually explicit material available to a child, according to police.
Officers who executed a search warrant on the man's home found firearms that were not stored safely.
In addition to charges of voyeurism and making and possessing child pornography, he faces one charge of making sexually explicit material available to a child, four charges of unsafe storage of firearms and a charge of unsafe storage of ammunition.
RCMP did not release the man's name to protect the identity of the victims.
He was arrested on June 11 is scheduled to appear in court in Beausejour, Man., on Sept. 2.
