Senior dies after boating accident near Twin Lakes Beach
A 71-year-old man is dead after a boating accident near Twin Lakes Beach.
RCMP said a 42-year-old man and his 71-year-old father were fishing on Lake Manitoba on Friday when their boat capsized just before 9 p.m.
The pair were about 250 yards from shore when the accident happened, and the 42-year-old man was able to swim to shore to get help. His father was later found unresponsive.
Emergency crews performed CPR on the man and rushed him to hospital, but he was pronounced dead.
Police are not releasing the man’s name but did say he was from St. Laurent.
RCMP said the men were not wearing life jackets.
