Man, 67, dies in afternoon house fire in St. Vital

A 67-year-old man has died in a house fire this afternoon in Winnipeg's St. Vital neighbourhood, according to police.

A 67-year-old man has died in a house fire this afternoon in Winnipeg's St. Vital neighbourhood.

Fire crews were called to 82 Hindley Ave. just after 3 p.m. on Friday.

Winnipeg police did not know what caused the man's death, but said it's not considered to be suspicious.

An adult woman and a one-year-old child suffered minor injuries due to smoke inhalation, according to police.

Damage is estimated $110,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to fire officials.
