Winnipeg police have charged a man in connection with a double homicide after two bodies were found inside a Charleswood home Friday.

Seymour Sharpe,44, has been charged with two counts of second degree murder.

Police said Sharpe turned himself in at a police station, and that's how they became aware of the victims.

The bodies of Natasha Jeffrey, 37, and Ronald Dabreo,39, were found inside a house in the 4300 block of Roblin Boulevard just after 8 a.m.

According to officers the victims and the accused know each other, but the terms of their relationship has not been released, however, police are calling the homicides a "domestic incident."

Const. Jason Michalyshen said the cause of the deaths will be released after autopsies have been performed.

"I'm not going to get into the details as to whether a weapon was used or not," said Michalyshen. "We're quite simply acknowledging that there's no question a very violent incident did occur."

Officers cordoned off the home Friday, where at one point, several people were seen crying in the driveway.

People living in the neighbourhood said they were shocked to see such a heavy police presence in what is usually a quiet area.
