Basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson was in Winnipeg last night.
The keynote speaker for the 42nd Annual Rady JCC Sports Dinner talked about his career, his life with HIV, leadership on and off the hard court, and Donald Sterling — the embattled owner of the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers.
Sterling was banned from the NBA for life and fined $2.5 million by the league after private recordings of him making racist comments were made public.
In one of those, he was heard chastising his girlfriend for taking pictures alongside black men, including Johnson.
The 80-year-old Sterling is now suing the NBA for $1 billion in federal court after the league tried to oust him as Clippers owner.
