Winnipeg police seek woman in attempted luring in Lindenwoods
Girl refused woman's offer for a ride to school, police say
Winnipeg police are looking for a woman who allegedly tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into her car in the Lindenwoods area earlier this week.
Police say the girl was walking near Farmingdale Boulevard and Lindenwood Drive East just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday when the woman, driving a black four-door car, pulled up beside her.
The woman allegedly said, "I'm driving you to school. Come on, get in, get in," but the girl refused and continued on her way, police said in a news release.
The woman was the only person in the car, which was last seen turning westbound onto Lindenwood Drive, they added.
Police say she is around 40 years old with shoulder-length black, curly hair.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call investigators with the West District Crime Unit at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
