The Winnipeg Police Service's latest installment in the Just Slow Down campaign is another gasp-inducing video.

The hard-hitting public awareness campaign, which first started in 2009, focuses this time on the risk to emergency responders.

"The consequences of a single moment in time can be catastrophic," the police service states on its Just Slow Down website.

"Excessive speed not only contributes to loss of vehicle control and greater incidence of collision, but a reduction of just a few kilometres per hour during impact can mean the difference of life and death, walking away and long-term disability."
Just Slow Down, launched in 2009 by the Winnipeg Police Service, has focused on speeding, running red lights and distracted driving in previous campaigns. (Winnipeg Police Service)
