Winnipeg Jet Evander Kane has been put on the NHL's injured-reserve list.

Winnipeg Jet Evander Kane has been placed on the Injured Reserve List over an injury to his hand.

The left winger was placed on the list retroactively to Jan. 7, according to Jets officials.

In his place, the team has called up 22-year-old Carl Klingberg from the AHL’s St. John’s Icecaps.

Klingberg has played seven NHL games between Atlanta and Winnipeg and was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round of the 2009 draft.

There is no word on when Kane will be ready to return to the ice. He injured his hand during a fight with Eric Brewer in a home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning Jan. 7.
