Jets fans line up to get cooking with players' recipes
Winnipeg Jets fans and hopeful chefs alike lined up outside the Jets Gear Store at St. Vital Centre Saturday afternoon.
Two of the team's forwards, Mark Scheifele and Olli Jokinen, as well as Jokinen's wife, Katerina, signed copies of the Our Jets at Home cookbook.
Katerina Jokinen hopes Winnipeggers will enjoy a peak inside the kitchens and the personal lives of the team's players.
"Great pictures, great recipes," she said. "Little stories about the players and their families' lifestyles. A great peak inside the players and their families everyday lives. And their traditions."
The book contains more than 50 recipes, including Scheifele's Banana Blueberry Smoothies, Evander Kane's Chicken Wings, Dustin Byfuglien's Tomato Vodka Penne and Andrew Ladd's Monster Cookies.
All proceeds go to the True North Foundation, which provides funds to local charities that help children and youth participate in sport.
