The agent representing Alexander Burmistrov is denying reports that the Winnipeg Jets forward has received a KHL contract offer.

Mark Gandler responded to media reports Monday that Burmistrov was offered a contract by the KHL's AK Bars Kazan, the 20-year-old's hometown hockey team in Russia.

When contacted by CBC News, Gandler called reports of the offer "reprinted rumours from a Russian newspaper."

Gandler said neither he nor Burmistrov has been contacted by AK Bars Kazan or any other KHL team about a contract offer.
