The City of Winnipeg has published its list of streets, back lanes and sidewalks that will get repairs or a total makeover this year.

Dozens of streets are expected to be ripped up and replaced, or at the very least get a thin overlay rolled over top to smooth out the potholes.

City officials are projecting a total of just under $39 million in spending on repairs this year.

The spending still needs the approval of city council before the work can begin.

Staff use a "pavement condition rating system" to determine which streets, back lanes and sidewalks are in the worst shape.
