Industrial fire chases 23 from Winnipeg business
Fire crews were called to Reliance Products on Sherwin Road just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
One of the company's large storage silos was burning.
A transit bus was brought in to shelter 23 employees while the fire was fought for about two hours.
One person was taken to hospital as a precaution but is fine, police said.
The fire has been ruled as accidental.
The silo was filled with plastic pellets used to make products like the Aqua Pak water containers, which are in large demand recently by many Winnipeggers with frozen water supply pipes.
Many homeowners have been using the containers to store water until their pipes are working again.
