About 75 Idle No More protesters were out in the cold weather on Highway 59 near the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation Sunday.
They blocked parts of the highway, but traffic was still able to get through.
"Treaty rights for our children and our future," said Ralph Kent, who is one of the protesters with the group.
"Our children can't speak for themselves and their future, so that's what we're out here doing."
The protesters planned to be on Highway 59 until 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. CST.
Brokenhead Ojibway Nation is located about 72 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.
