Highway rollover kills man, seriously injures woman
A 59-year-old man has died in a single-vehicle rollover that happened this morning on the Trans-Canada Highway southeast of Winnipeg.
RCMP and emergency crews were called to the highway, about 1½ kilometres west of the Highway 12 junction, just after 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Police say it appears the vehicle rolled over and came to a stop in the median between the Trans-Canada's westbound and eastbound lanes.
The man was pronounced dead, while the 73-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police did not release the names of the deceased or the injured driver.
RCMP warned of traffic delays Monday as crews worked at the scene.
Slippery road conditions are considered to be a factor in the rollover, RCMP said in a news release.
