Man dies after being hit by large delivery truck on Higgins Avenue

Police have reopened parts of Higgins, between Argyle Street and Waterfront Drive after a fatal motor vehicle collision Friday night.

A man died of his injuries after being hit by a large delivery truck on Higgins Avenue Friday.

Winnipeg police were called to the crash on Higgins Avenue between Waterfront Drive and Argyle Street at around 5:40 p.m. 

The investigation closed the roadway between Argyle Street and Waterfront Drive for most of Friday night but it has since reopened.

It's believed the man, who was in his 50s, was hit by a Ryder delivery truck which remained at the crash site while police investigated.

The man was sent to hospital in critical condition but police say he has since died.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

No other details about the victim or crash have been released.
