Winnipeg police are at a house in Winnipeg's North End, where the sound of gunshots rang out Tuesday morning.

Yellow police tape surrounded a home at 430 Pritchard Avenue, which is divided into two suites, for several hours as investigators scoured the high grass in the yard and another across the street looking for evidence.

Neighbours told CBC News they heard yelling in the back lane near the house at about 1 a.m. and popping sounds like gunshots at about 4:30 a.m.

One neighbour said they're not surprised that house is the focus of the attention. They described it as a gang house full of teenagers and people coming and going at all hours.

Police said the home that was shot was occupied at the time but no one was hurt.

The major crimes unit is investigating and asking anyone with information to call them at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
