A gun was reportedly fired during a robbery near Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre on Friday.
Three men were walking near Pearl Street and Notre Dame Avenue when they were confronted by three other people just before 1 a.m.
The men were robbed of some items but then a fight broke out, police said. During the incident, one of the suspects pulled out a gun, pointed it at the men, then beat one of them, police said.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police said the gun was also fired but no one was injured.
The previous day, at about 10 p.m., a man armed with a knife tried to rob a store in the 1300 block of Main Street, in the city's North End. The man went behind the counter and confronted a 62-year-old woman who was working there.
The man demanded money but didn't get any before he ran off. Police are investigating both incidents.
Anyone with information on either one is asked to call investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
