Wayne Gretzky will speak at a Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce luncheon on May 20.

Chamber vice-president Loren Remillard said final details are still being ironed out with the former NHL star.

"It was an exciting opportunity," Remillard said. "A once in a lifetime opportunity to bring ultimately, arguably the game's greatest player and the game's greatest ambassador to Winnipeg. When you're presented with an opportunity like that, you jump on it. We're ecstatic."

Tickets are $99, but only chamber members can buy them.

The event at the Fairmont Winnipeg will be moderated by Frank McKenna, former New Brunswick premier and Canada's ambassador to the U.S.

He is currently Deputy Chairman of the Toronto-Dominion Bank.
