As Manitobans gear up for Valentine's Day, Google Canada has named Churchill, Man., one of the most romantic places in Canada.
"Known as the polar bear capital of the world, Churchill, Man., offers wildlife tours where visitors can safely catch a rare glimpse of the endangered animal in its vast and beautiful natural habitat," Google said in a news release Thursday.
Churchill Mayor Michael Spence said he wasn't surprised Google named his hometown as one of the most romantic destinations in Canada.
"It's about time," he said.
"When you put the pieces together, I mean why not … We've got a touch of class here."

Valentine's Day in Churchill is not unlike most places in Canada except after a romantic dinner, couples have the chance to check out a complimentary show.
"This time of year you have the abundance of northern lights and it's always a cool thing," said Spence.
Churchill is no stranger to couples in love, the mayor added. One couple travelled to the northern Manitoba town to get married at the mouth of the Churchill River, others travel up to spend their honeymoons on an outdoor adventure.
"It's all about creativity and what you want to do, what do you want to see and where you want to be," he said.
Spence hopes the love from Google encourages more Canadians to explore their backyard.
"Niagara Falls has waterfalls, we've got the real thing. We've got the abundance of bears, belugas and northern lights," he said.
Lovestruck Canadians can also let sparks fly in Niagara Falls, Ont., Love, Sask., Old Quebec City, Que., and Peggy's Cove, N.S., which are among the romantic hotspots on Google's list.
