Girl, 17, charged in connection with Home St. stabbing

Winnipeg police are investigating two separate stabbings that have left two men recovering in hospital.

Winnipeg police have charged a 17-year-old girl in connection with a stabbing in the late hours of Friday night.

It happened at a house in the 500 block of Home Street where an altercation broke out at about11:40 p.m. resulting in the man being stabbed.

He was rushed to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The police Major Crimes Unit taped off the Home Street house while they were investigating and interviewing witnesses Saturday morning.

The girl is facing several charges including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

She remains in police custody.

Police probe another stabbing

Police were called to a separate stabbing early Saturday morning in the area of Austin Street North and Euclid Avenue.

Police said a 48-year-old man was confronted by unknown suspects at about 3:20 a.m. and suffered wounds to his upper body.

He is in stable condition.
