Girl, 14, struck by car in western Manitoba, RCMP say

A 14-year-old girl is in Winnipeg in stable condition after she was hit that was hit by a car while she was crossing a western Manitoba highway, RCMP said.

A 14-year-old girl is in stable condition after she was hit by a car while crossing a highway near Onanole, Man., RCMP said.

Yellowhead RCMP were called to investigate the incident Saturday.

A 70-year-old woman driving a Chevy Impala northbound on Highway 10 struck the 14-year-old girl.

The girl was trying to cross Highway 10 on foot near Victor Road at the time of the collision, RCMP said.

The victim was seriously injured and was taken to a Winnipeg hospital, where she remains in stable condition.

The Minnedosa-area driver was not hurt, RCMP said.

An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is helping with the ongoing investigation.
