Fire crews fought a fuel tanker fire on Highway 250 near Souris on Tuesday.

The blaze broke out shortly before 1 p.m., and crews from the RM of Whitehead and the town of Souris were dispatched to fight the fire.

RCMP said there are major traffic delays in the area, but no one was injured in the blaze.

Crews remained on the scene after 2:30 p.m. to investigate, and the fire was finally extinguished shortly after.

RCMP said there was no collision that could have initiated the blaze, and they are still trying to determine what caused it.
