A former Child and Family Services employee who sexually assaulted children in a Manitoba group home has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Lionel Norman McCullough, 50, was convicted in December 2013 of sexual assault against three victims between 1984 and 1988.
The group home is located in southwest Manitoba.
The crimes came to light in 2012, when one of the victims came forward. While investigating the case, police discovered two more victims.
A national warrant was issued for McCullough's arrest on Dec. 17, 2012. He was located and arrested in Vancouver in January 2013 and transported back to Manitoba.
McCullough was sentenced Thursday in Brandon provincial court. His name and DNA will be added to the national sex offender registry.
He was previously convicted in 1988 of three counts of sexually assaulting residents of that same group home.
He served 18 months in jail for those crimes.
