Foodbank boss named to Order of Canada
The head of Winnipeg's largest food bank has been appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada.
David Northcott is executive director of Winnipeg Harvest, which collects food and distributes it to agencies across Manitoba.
The announcement, which was released by the Governor General's office on Friday, says Northcott is being recognized for his commitment to fighting poverty and hunger in Canada.
Northcott is the only Manitoban on the list of 66 new appointees to the Order of Canada. All the recipients will be invited to attend a ceremony at a later date.
