A Flin Flon couple faces drug cultivation charges after firefighters found marijuana plants in a burning home, RCMP said.
Police said that on June 26 firefighters were called to a car fire on Green Street in Flin Flon. When they arrived, they found both the car and a house on fire. As the fires were being extinguished firefighters found a pot-growing operation in the house and called police.
Police seized 64 marijuana plants and some pot that had already been harvested. The estimated street value of the seizure is $65,000.
A local couple, both aged 50, have been charged with production and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The investigation into the cause of the fire, deemed suspicious, is ongoing.
