Fire caused $750,000 in damaged to a medical clinic and pharmacy in Winnipeg's West End on Friday.
It broke out at about 4 a.m. at Crestview Pharmacy at the corner of Ellice Avenue and Furby Street.
Officials said garbage was burning outside and the flames spread to the building and up to a second-storey suite. No one was in the building at the time.
The windows on the second level were shattered and the exterior walls lightly scorched around them.
The fire was extinguished within an hour and the roads in the area were reopened by 6 a.m.
At about the same time as the pharmacy fire — and just a few houses away on the 400 block of Furby — another fire caused about $6,000 in damage to a garage and fence.
Police have not said whether they believe they are connected.
