A fire inside a Winnipeg library branch is under investigation, with fire officials calling it suspicious.
Emergency crews were called to the Munroe Library on London Street, between Munroe and Hoskin avenues, at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
No one was in the library, which was locked at the time.
"It was locked and there was a fire inside, so yes, it was suspicious," Tom Mulvenna of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said at the scene.
Mulvenna said the fire damage is limited to a small vestibule area at the front of the library.
"There's going to be a little smoke damage to the entire building, but it's slight," he said.
The library will open Thursday at its usual time of 1 p.m., a City of Winnipeg spokesperson told CBC News.
