Two people were taken to hospital after a fire in Winnipeg's west Broadway neighbourhood on Tuesday.

Emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Langside Street just before 5 a.m.

Six people got out of the home on their own but firefighters had to rescue the other two. One was taken to hospital in unstable condition, the other in stable.

The fire, inside the 2 ½-storey home, was extinguished within a half hour and streets in the area were cleared by 6:30 a.m.

Damage is estimated at $110,000.

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire.
