A raging fire lit up a North End Winnipeg alley on Thursday, tearing through a garage and leaving $200,000 damage in its wake.

It started just after 4 a.m. in the 400 block of Garlies Street, off Mountain Avenue.

All that remains of the garage is a few charred timbers and two pickup trucks that were parked inside.

The fire spread to the back of the house on the same property, leaving it scorched as well.

The homeowners were able to get out unharmed.

A neighbouring garage was also slightly damaged.
