Fire crews start cleanup after downtown fire

A couple of people may be in hospital Sunday morning after a fire at a downtown Winnipeg apartment complex.

A Winnipeg man is recovering in hospital after he was injured in an apartment block fire Sunday morning.

Crews were called to the complex on Donald Street at St. Mary Avenue just before 8 a.m.

The man had to be rescued from his fourth floor balcony. 

Officials said there is quite a bit of damage to the suite, but no damage estimate was available.

No one else was injured. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
