A 76-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in Winnipeg's Fort Richmond area.
It happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday on Pembina Highway near Dalhousie Drive.
Police said the man had crossed the southbound lanes of Pembina in front of the Windsor Plywood store and was trying to cross the northbound lanes when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.
The intersection was closed and northbound traffic was prohibited until the roads reopened at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The scene of the collision was cordoned off by tape and several police cruisers. One vehicle was seen with its front window smashed on the passenger side.
The investigation is continuing. Police are not releasing the man's name.
