Two people were taken to hospital in stable condition after a massive fire at a Windsor Park home Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters battled the blaze at Fleury Place, where at one point, the smoke was so thick it was hard to see the burning home.
"We saw some smoke billowing out the window," said neighbour Dave Lowe who called 911."It was pretty bad, pretty sad to see."
Winnipeg Fire Department Platoon Chief Dennis Wiwcharyk said firefighters had to react defensively.
"Just it was so well involved on our arrival so we don't want to jeopardize our personnel, we've removed our occupants from the home so we wanna, take all precautions," said Wiwcharyk.
Wiwcharyk told CBC News the two people in the home are elderly.
It's not yet known what caused the fire.
Total damage to the house and its contents is $330,000.
