It was a stinky afternoon rush hour for some drivers in Winnipeg on Wednesday, after a dump truck hauling what appeared to be animal guts spilled its load shortly after 5 p.m. on the Perimeter Highway near St. Mary's Road.

CBC traffic reporter Trevor Dineen said there were five piles of guts and an overwhelming stench at the scene. He advised drivers headed for the area to roll up their windows.

Crews were on the scene cleaning up the mess.

Drivers were warned to expect a 30-minute delay at the scene of the spill.
